Summing up January thru May

January- Christie visits NYC and we take on the town. Friday and Saturday we went to some of our favorite spots: Brother Jimmy's, Afghan Kabob (a BYOB middle eastern restaurant), The View and a few others. We then took a limo out to Long Island for a day long trip to some wineries. In between it all was a lot of walking and sight seeing. It was a blast!!!!!!

March- Rob and I make a trip down to Charleston for Mary's wedding; however, we took a Savannah detour on the way. We did two whole days of walking all over Savannah taking a zillion pictures of all the beautiful homes and historical landmarks. It truly is gorgeous place. We toured 5 houses and ate at Paula Dean's restaurant Lady and Sons. We also did a haunted bus tour was pretty neat and spooky. It was an absolutely wonderful experience.

Now in Charleston we went to the markets and then took a long walk to see the battery and all those amazing homes (Pat and Melissa were not ready for all the walking we had planned for that day, but they toughed it out). We even toured the house of John C. Calhoun which was very interesting. We attended Mary's wedding which was beautiful. The church was perfect for the ceremony and she looked great! It was so much fun for all of us girls to be back together again.

Awaiting Teague's Arrival

Welcome Everyone!

I just want to say hello and introduce my blog by sharing the upcoming excitement in my life. Rob and I are getting a kitten. It is called a Cheetoh Cat. It is a relatively new breed which is a mix between an Ocicat and a Bengal (descendant of the Asian Leopard). Most people probably haven't heard of them and we had no idea these guys existed until about a month ago. Anyways they are a sort of exotic breed that plays fetch, loves water, walks on a leash and are supposedly extremely intelligent.

How we came to find them????

Several Saturdays ago it was finally nice enough to be outside so a coworker and I go to get some drinks and chat. A couple hours later we finish up and she heads home and I decide to go to the pet store. I pretend I want to buy a pet so I can hold one ( I do this a lot).  I see these really cute kittens (male and a female) called Cheetoh Cats and I think I must hold one. Finding out they cost $2500 I gag silently, but still act interested and ask to hold the female. She was so beautiful and playful I must have held her for 20 minutes. At this point I have fallen in love with the kitten and I having had some drinks, start to justify spending that much on a cat (calculating how long they live and how much that would be per day). I think that's not so bad. I even ask the couple holding the male if they think we can get some sort of deal (2 for $3500). Clearly this is not going to happen. Finally the store employee no longer sees me as potential customer and just as that girl who wants to hold all the animals so he says he needs to put the kitten away. Sadly I give it back, but still not wanting to give myself away (because I know I am going to want to go back soon and hold more animals) I say I'm going to bring my boyfriend back to see the kittens and then I can make a decision. I head to go meet Rob.

I bring Rob back to the pet store for probably the millionth time since we started dating to see "my newest obsession" (you must know I stop at this store often to take pictures of various animals on my phone and send them to Rob (which he probably doesn't care to see) and ask him to do the same for me when he is near it). Anyways, Rob likes the Cheetoh Cat and thinks I should get one. We think if we split the cost it won't be that bad, so we ponder. We come to the decision that $2500 for a cat is far too much unless it won't max out your credit card and put you on the street because you can't pay your rent. Rob does some research online and we find out a great deal about these animals. He comes a across a breeder "Craig" in Arkansas who has some kittens available for adoption, so that is where our little "Teague" (Irish name since he was born on St. Patrick's Day) is coming from. I have made a cat lover out of Rob or should I say a Cheetoh lover? We are psyched and can't wait for his arrival to The Big Apple!!!!!

Disclosure: cute boy sold separately.
